Could you have received a staph infection from a plastic knife?

Today I accidentally cut his finger with a plastic knife (I know, so silly), the reduction was very, very small and light bleeding for a few minutes. I was not able to get a hold of some peroxide about 20 minutes and was a couple of hours before I could get a Band-Aid. Has stopped bleeding and I can not see the court more. Could have received a staph infection? May sound stupid, but I'm very paranoid. Any ideas would be appreciated.
